On the 23rd of January, applications closed for the Space Academy to be held in Rome on the 25th-26th of March. We received 36 applications from 15 countries.
All applications go through a pre-selection phase to identify the companies that fit the criteria that the Evaluation Committee have set out. The pre-selection phase sees four experts from EBAN, Hypatia, 200 Crowd and the SpaceUp team screen the company with a focus on the company’s status, their stage of product/service and their market strategy.
Following the pre-selection phase, the SpaceUp Evaluation Committee, composed of 6 experts, will use other European data and services from the likes of Galileo, Copernicus and EGNOS, to score the applications. The criteria is as follows:
- Value proposition / Business idea
- Market positioning and market potential
- Business scalability
- Financial status and amp; business planning
- Investment approach
- Strategic relationships and partnerships
- Technical expertise
The 10 highest scoring companies will be those selected to receive free personalised services from our SpaceUp experts as well as one to one talks, feasibility studies, travel funding and more.
Thank you to all those that applied. The final results will be available from 3rd February.
